Dollar changes hands in upper 111 yen in early Tokyo trading

TOKYO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 111 yen zone early Thursday in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 111.64-65 yen compared with 111.67-77 yen in New York and 112.11-12 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The euro fetched 1.1663-1664 dollars and 130.21-25 yen against 1.1655-1665 dollars and 130.23-33 yen in New York and 1.1687-1688 dollars and 131.03-07 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon. Enditem
