JAKARTA, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia on Thursday inaugurated a 3.9-billion-U.S.-dollar petrochemical complex owned by PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia in Cilegon in Banten Province.
President Prabowo Subianto hailed the project as a major industrial milestone, saying it "brings benefits to us" and should be "protected and welcomed."
He emphasized that the facility represents a new chapter in national progress and that an open nation maintaining good relations with all partners will advance more quickly toward prosperity.
The plant is expected to produce about 2 billion U.S. dollars' worth of petrochemical products annually. ■
