BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Argentina international midfielder Anibal Moreno has left Brazil's Palmeiras to join River Plate, the Buenos Aires club said on Sunday.
Moreno signed a deal that runs until December 2029 after River agreed to pay Palmeiras a transfer fee reportedly worth seven million U.S. dollars.
"I'm very happy to join this family," Moreno said in a video posted on River's official website. "I want to tell you that I'll always give my all to help the club."
River officials said the 26-year-old is expected to join the club's first-team squad for pre-season training on Monday.
Moreno made 117 first-team appearances for Palmeiras after joining the Sao Paulo club from Racing in January 2024.
He was rewarded for his consistent form at club level with a call-up to Argentina's national team, making his international debut in a 6-0 victory over Puerto Rico in October. ■
