LA PAZ, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Shakhtar Donetsk central defender Diego Arroyo and Leganes right-back Lucas Macazaga were among 26 players named in Bolivia's squad on Tuesday for friendlies against South Korea and Japan.
Manager Oscar Villegas named 12 players from local clubs, including veteran goalkeeper Carlos Lampe, Always Ready midfielder Hector Cuellar and The Strongest forward John Garcia.
Bolivia will meet South Korea in Daejeon on November 14 and Japan in Tokyo four days later.
The double header will provide Villegas with a chance to fine-tune his team's preparations for the 2026 World Cup playoffs in March.
Bolivia will vie for one of two places on offer against two teams from North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) as well as one each from the African, Asian and Oceania confederations.
La Verde is seeking its first appearance at the World Cup finals since the 1994 tournament in the United States. ■
